College-Level Examination Program (CLEP)
CLEP exams are nationally standardized credit by exam tests recognized by most institutions of high education across the nation. The College-Level Examination Program gives students the opportunity to receive college credit for what they know, by earning qualifying scores on the appropriate examinations. Ramapo College is a limited CLEP Test Center that offers testing for students currently enrolled at the institution.
Before submitting a CLEP registration form Ramapo students must first obtain an Off Campus Study Form from the Center for Academic Advisement (CAAFYE). Students may also obtain from the Center for Academic Advisement a list of the CLEP exams for which the college awards credit and the minimum score required by Ramapo College for CLEP tests. The Center for Academic Advisement is located in the Academic Complex, Wing D, Room 207.
The College-Level Examination Program is a computer-based test. Seating is limited and it is important for students to register and reserve the use of a computer as soon as possible. If you register for a test and find that you will not be able to attend on the reserved date please notify the Testing Center to cancel your appointment and then you will need to start the registration process all over again. You may only take one test per day.

CLEP INSTRUCTIONS (PLEASE READ EVERYTHING BELOW VERY CAREFULLY)
EFFECTIVE JULY 1, 2012, THE FEE FOR CLEP EXAMS WILL INCREASE TO $80.00 PER EXAM
1. Complete the CLEP registration-admission form. Dowload the form below.
2. Choose one of the payment options listed below:
Option A - Enclose in an envelope one personal check or money order in the amount of $35.00 (the non-refundable test administration fee) per test payable to Ramapo College along with your registration-admission form and a personal check or money order in the amount of $77.00 payable to CLEP.
OR
Option B - Enclose in an envelope one personal check or money order in the amount of $35.00 (the non-refundable test administration fee) per test payable to Ramapo College along with your registration-admission form and the CLEP fee can be be paid by credit card (Visa, Master Card or American Express) or Debit Card on the day of the test.
3. If taking several tests, you may copy the registration form for each test.
4. If paying by personal check or money order and registering for more than one test, do not combine fees. Each registration form requires a separate payment.
5. Submit completed registration form and payment to the Testing Center by mail or in-person at least 2 weeks prior to test date.
6. You will receive an e-mail confirming the date of your exam which you must bring with you on the day of your exam.
7. Cancellations require 24 hours notice or will be subject to a $20.00 re-scheduling fee.

- Mon May 21 at 10 a.m.
- Mon June 4 at 10 a.m.
- Mon June 18 at 10 a.m.
- Mon July 2 at 10 a.m.
- Mon July 16 at 10 a.m.

ON THE DAY OF THE TEST
1. You must arrive at least 15 minutes in advance of your exam appointment time. You will not be admitted after the testing session has begun.
2. You must bring two forms of Photo ID. A list of acceptable forms of Primary and Secondary photo ID are listed below.
3. DANTES-funded military candidates must present a current military ID in addition to a second form of government-issued ID.
4. Bring confirmation e-mail.
5. Be prepared with the name and address of the institution receiving your score.
6. CLEP will mail score report directly to the score recipient you choose.
7. Examinee will receive test score after completing exam. If you take an exam with essay you will receive results usually one to three weeks after your test date.
WE WILL NOT RESERVE A COMPUTER FOR YOU UNTIL WE RECEIVE THE $35.00 (NON-REFUNDABLE) CHECK OR MONEY ORDER ALONG WITH YOUR REGISTRATION FORM PROPERLY COMPLETED. INCOMPLETE FORMS WILL BE RETURNED TO STUDENT.
CLEP registration-admission forms must be received at least two weeks prior to the test date. Availability of space cannot be guaranteed if the registration form is not received on time. Please call the Testing Center 201 684-7543 or 201 684-7560 for further information.

- Current state-issued driver’s license
- Current U.S. military identification card
- Current Passport
- Current State or Federal identification card
- Tribal identification card
- Naturalization Card
Forms of ACCEPTABLE Secondary ID (includes photo or signature)
- Social Security Card
- Student ID
- Credit Card
- Employee ID
Prohibited Items ~ the following items are not permitted in the testing lab. ALL personal items must be placed in the designated area in the lab while testing.
- Calculators
- Cellular phones/pagers, beepers, walkie-talkies, PDAs, or wireless communication devices (e.g., BlackBerry)
- Digital watches (wrist or pocket), alarm watches, or wristwatch cameras
- Any kind of photographic or copying device
- Listening devices such as iPods, laptops, radios, media players with headphones, or recorders
- Dictionaries, books, pamphlets, or reference materials
- Papers of any kind (scratch paper will be provided by the test center administrator)
- Mechanical pencils or any type of pen or highlighter
- Slide rules, protractors, compasses, or rulers
- Food, beverages, or tobacco products
- Hats (unless worn as a religious requirement), hooded sweatshirts or “hoodies”
- Any other unauthorized testing aids
