Zoe Baldwin '03

Ms. Baldwin is the New Jersey advocate for Tri-State Transportation Campaign where she develops and promotes organizational positions on transportation projects and policy to elected leaders, government officials and other statewide stakeholders. Her previousexperience is steeped in political advocacy. She's served as a political and community organizer for Service Employees International Union, 1199NJ, as a legislative director for Senator Loretta Weinberg, an outreach coordinator for AFL-CIO, Bergen County and office manager for NJ Peace Action. Her interests include the following memberships: Board of Trustees of the United Labor Agency of Bergen County; Pi Sigma Alpha, the National Political Science Honor Society; and Phi Alpha Theta, the History Honor Society.

Antonietta "Toni" Brower '02

Ms. Brower, a licensed real estatebroker, is vice-president of sales at Michael Brower Realty Co. She performs feasibility studies,institutes and implements marketing programs for conversions from apartments tocondominium ownership. While raising a family, Ms. Brower served as presidentof the Franklin Lakes Education Foundation and president of the Franklin AvenueMiddle School PTA in Franklin Lakes. As a Board Member of the Indian Hills HighSchool PTSO, she continued her student-centered interest and spear-headed manycommittees focused on student involvement and activities. Currently she is active in the MatthewLarson Foundation, Shelter Our Sisters and Oasis-a Haven for Women and Childrenin Paterson. Ms. Brower isalso a member of the New Jersey Realtors Association.

Steve Fonder '74

Dr. Fonder is a group manager with the Internal Revenue Service of the U.S. Treasury where he manages field investigations. He also serves as Tantaqua district chairman of the Boy Scouts of America and as a commander with the United States Coast Guard/Auxiliary. He served as a trustee on the River Dell and River Edge School Board of Education for 20 years and as an EMT on a volunteer ambulance corp. In addition, Dr. Fonder has served on the Ramapo College Alumni Association Board.

Cathy Moran Hajo '85

M.A. and Ph.D. in History and a Certificate in Archival Management and Historical Editing, New York University

Dr. Hajo is associate editor/assistant director of the Margaret Sanger Papers Project at New York University History Department, where she is responsible for research, administration and database. She is past president of the Association for Documentary Editing and serves on its Council. She also was on the Advisory Committee for the third edition of Mary Jo Kline and Susan H. Perdue's, Guide to Documentary Editing. In addition Dr. Hajo's research in twentieth century women's history, she teaches a graduate course on History and New Media for the Archives and Public History Program. Her first book, Birth Control on Main Street: Birth Control Clinics in the United States, 1916 - 1939, will be published by the University of Illinois Press in the Spring of 2010. Dr. Hajo participated in a Liberal Arts Roundtable Panel sponsored by the Cahill Center and a Careers in History Panel sponsored by the History Club.

Thomas M. Hewitt '75

Mr. Hewitt is assistant vice president/field marketing manager for TD Bank. In this position he executes marketing initiatives to promote new retail and business accounts and supervises community relation donations to enhance business development. His experience also includes owning a management consulting firm; serving as loan officer with Globe Mortgage America, LLC, vice president for Sales and Marketing with Dr. Pepper/Seven-Up Bottling Group; and several management positions with the Pepsi-Cola Company. Mr. Hewitt is a board member of the Foundation for Free Enterprise. He currently is a member of the Alumni Association Board of Directors and serves as chair of the AIS Alumni Advisory Board.

Vincent T. Marchese '75

Mr. Marchese is an instructional assistant in the Department of Special Services at John F. Kennedy High School in Paterson and an instructor of Photographic Media at the Midland Park Adult School. Since 2007, he has been teaching a U.S. History I class at the high school, where he also served on the School Leadership Committee. Mr. Marchese enjoys working with youth organizations and has devoted time to the high school's marching band, the Paterson Y.M.C.A. and the Hawthorne Caballeros Drum & Bugle Corps. He also is a member of the Passaic County Historical Society and The History Channel Club.


 
Jonathan N. Marcus, Esq. '93

MArcusMajor: Law and Society  J.D., Seton Hall University School of Law

Mr. Marcus is assistant general counsel at KPMG LLP where he provides in-house counseling and representation in connection with all business transaction matters to the United States member firms of KPMG International. Previously, he held positions with Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP and Sills Cummis & Gross, PC. He serves as President of Ramapo College's Alumni Association's Board of Directors and is chairman of the KPMG Ramapo Alumni Chapter. Mr. Marcus received the College's President's Award of Merit at the May 2009 Commencement ceremony.

Kelly McCartney '03

Ms. McCartney is curator of the Frederick County Historical Society in Frederick, Maryland where she manages a museum, historic house, collections care, and staff. She also develops exhibitions. In January 2009, Ms. McCartney served as consulting curator at The Hermitage in Ho-Ho-Kus, New Jersey. Her previous experience includes research archivist for The History Channel and several positions with The Hermitage, culminating with being named curator. Ms. McCartney has given lectures about The Hermitage's collections and has written articles for the organization's newsletter. She is a member of the American Association of State and Local History and the National Association of Interpretation.

Scott W. Stahlmann '79

Mr. Stahlmann is a Recruitment and Staffing professional currently employed at TIAA-CREF in NY. He is responsible for the sourcing, screening and hiring of Asset Management, Risk Management and Product Development professionals. Previously, Scott has held staffing management positions with SunGard Consulting Services, Prudential Financial, Ernst & Young as well as having owned a search firm. In addition, Mr. Stahlmann has held local elective office and has served as Vice Chairman of the Northwest Bergen Utilities Authorities and as a Commissioner on the Bergen County Board of Elections.

Helen Montchal, Literature major alumni, has been accepted to the Long Island University Education Certification program. She'll certify in Math and English 

Ann Coats

Congratulations to Ann Coats (LITR major alumni) who just graduated from the University of Illinois with an M.S. in Library & Information Science. She is now employed  as the new Children's Librarian at East Rutherford Memorial Library in Bergen County, NJ.  

Suzie Chapman
 
Suzi Chapman (LITR major alumni) has been working in NYC at the Institute of International Education for the last two years. She works on the Foreign Fulbright, processing applications for the incoming cohort of students, working on in program grantees renewal funding, and creating their DS-2019 to apply for their J-1 visa.

Mark Lotwis

Mark LowtisMark Lotwis works to formulate the Save Darfur Coalition's short and long-term advocacy strategy and supervises the organization's advocacy programs, campaigns, movement building, coalition relations, events, and outreach. Most recently, Mark served as Executive Director of 21st Century Democrats from 2007 to 2008, as a partner at two leading Democratic media consulting firms, MacWilliams Robinson & Partners and Strother Duffy Strother, from 1998 to 2006, and as Chief of Staff to U.S. Representative Ted Strickland (D-OH), now Governor of Ohio, in 1997 to 1998. During the 1994 and 1996 election cycles, Mark served as the Western Field Director and Campaign Planning Director (respectively) at the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee.  Earlier, Mark managed the successful re-election campaign of U.S. Representative Louise Slaughter (D-NY) and state Senator John Girgenti (D-NJ).  Mark also served as a pollster at two leading polling firms and was the Assistant Director of the Campaign Management Institute at American University in the late 1980's.  Mark began his career in public service when he was elected Chair of the Board of Directors of the New Jersey Public Interest Research Group in 1983. Mark serves on the Board of Directors of American University's Center for Congressional and Presidential Studies and received his Ph.D. in political science from The American University in 1993.  He received a B.S. in human ecology and political science magna cum laude from Ramapo College of New Jersey in 1983. Mark resides in Georgetown with his wife Lisa M. Konwinski who currently serves as Deputy Director for Legislative Affairs for President Barack Obama.  He is an avid photographer, cyclist and outdoorsman.
 


Ted McLoof

Ted McLoof (Ramapo Grad '07) has gotten his first story published by Melusine and will have a story published from Short Story America. He has also been selected as a finalist for the Glimmer Train's Family Matters contest, and received the University of Arizona's Tilly Warnock fellowship. Congratulations to Ted for his accomplishments.

Patrick Stickles

Patrick SticklesPatrick Stickles is the lead singer and songwriter of up and coming indy rock band Titus Andronicus. Their first cd, The Airing of Grievances, has been favorably reviewed in Spin and Blender.Their new cd, The Monitor is getting great reviews as well. As the band's name suggests, Titus Andronicus tends toward very literate songs, with song titles drawn from Shakespeare, Hunter Thomspon, and Albert Camus.


 

 

 

 

 
Carla De Gironimo

Heather DeGironimoCarla De Gironimo, class of 2007, teaches Journalism and ninth grade English at Waldwick High School. She is also the advisor to the school newspaper, The Echo, for the second year in a row.
