The Anisfield School of Business (ASB) is “committed to educating undergraduate students through the strategic integration of the business disciplines and the liberal arts”. As an indication of the School’s commitment to its mission of quality and relevance, it is pursuing accreditation for its undergraduate business program through the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business – AACSB International. AACSB International accreditation represents the highest standard of achievement for business schools. Seeking AACSB accreditation is a rigorous, standards based, multi-year process that requires the commitment of the entire faculty and staff of the school as well as the on-going support of College administration. Key stakeholders include students, alumni and the business community, all of whom are being included in the process.
In 2008-2009, the Anisfield School of Business made significant progress toward accreditation by AACSB and is now moving into the final phase of the process. The school’s 2008 Progress Report was accepted by AACSB and the Initial Accreditation Committee (IAC) determined that the school was ready to officially apply for accreditation. The school made the application, and a peer review team was appointed in the spring of 2009. The team chair will help guide the school through its year of self-evaluation. The result of this reflection will be a Self Evaluation Report in which the school demonstrates that its business program meets all applicable AACSB standards. A peer review team visit will then take place in the fall of 2010 and the team will make their final recommendation to the IAC by the end of 2010.
