Head Coach Patrick Newman comes to Ramapo College with a wealth of lacrosse experience. Newman began his coaching career in the high school ranks in 2002 at Bergen Catholic in Oradell, NJ. From 2002-2005, Coach Newman was fortunate to coach several high school all-star games including the Gil Gibbs Senior All-Star Game at Montclair State in 2003, and the Garden State Games in 2003, 2004, and 2005. He moved onto John S. Burke Catholic High School in 2005 and coached girls' lacrosse for the 2006 and 2007 seasons.
Coach Newman coached at the lacrosse camp at the United States Military Academy in 2005, and has been involved in the Central Bergen Lacrosse camp for six years.
An alumnus of Montclair State University, he earned a B.A in history in only three years before moving onto Ramapo College and the Masters in Liberal Arts Program earning his degree in December of 2006. His Masters Capstone project was on the history and personal experiences in lacrosse. During his time at Ramapo, Coach Newman also studied at Oxford University in England in the summer of 2005.
An avid traveler, Coach Newman has been to England, France, Spain, Morocco, Mexico, Canada, Liechtenstein, Holland, Switzerland, Italy, Germany, Austria, Vatican City, Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Hungary.
A native of Bergenfield, Coach Newman currently resides in Campbell, NY and teaches at John S. Burke Catholic High School.
