LADY ROADRUNNERS WRAP UP SEASON WITH 59-30 VICTORY OVER PACE
 
Mahwah, NJ:  The Ramapo College women’s swim team wrapped up the 2007-2008 season with a 59-30 victory over Pace University.
 
Three Roadrunners earned individual 1st place finishes leading the team to their third win of the year.  Kerri Adams (Parlin, NJ) clocked in at 19:53.2 in the 1,650-meter freestyle finishing 1st while Mary Lauzon (Teaneck, NJ) earned a 1st place ribbon in the 50-meter freestyle finishing in 26.8 seconds.  Heather Olsen (Old Bridge, NJ) wrapped up the individual top performers clocking in at 1:06.1 in the 100-meter fly for a 1st place of her own.
 
Danielle Burgio (Manalapan, NJ), Courtney Caruso (Manchester, NJ), Lauzon, and Rachel Coviello (Wayne, NJ) combined efforts in the 200-meter freestyle earning a 1st place finish overall in 1:48.9.
 
Ramapo honored Erika Axelsson (North Cape May, NJ), Caruso, and Karen Lobos (North Brunswick, NJ) in a senior day presentation prior to the start of the meet.  Congratulations and good luck to all the Roadrunners in your future endeavors.

ROADRUNNERS DEFEAT PACE, 60-29 IN FINAL MATCH-UP OF THE 2007-2008 SEASON
 
Mahwah, NJ:  The Ramapo College men’s swim team posted a 60-29 victory over Pace University wrapping up the 2007-2008 season standing at 3-5 overall.
 
Ben Farhi (Hackensack, NJ) placed 1st in the 100-meter fly in 101.49 while Peter Polgar (Wayne, NJ) earned two 1st place victories in the 50-meter freestyle and the 100-meter freestyle.  Polgar touched the poolside in 22.3 seconds in the 50-meter race while finishing the 100-meter race in 50.1 seconds.  David Nehls (Oakland, NJ) also finished in 1st place in the 100-meter breaststroke clocking in at 1:03.4.
 
Congratulations and good luck to senior captains Nick Acciani (Cherry Hill, NJ) and Michael Medvecky (Piscataway, NJ) who were honored prior to the start of the meet.  Good luck in all your future endeavors.

ROADRUNNERS FALL SHORT TO LIONS, 69-103 

Trenton, NJ:  The Ramapo College men’s swim team fell short to the Lions of The College of New Jersey tonight in Trenton, 69-103 to fall to 2-5 overall on the year. 

The 200-yard medley relay team consisting of Peter Polgar (Wayne, NJ), David Nehls (Oakland, NJ), captain Michael Medvecky (Piscataway, NJ), and captain Nick Acciani (Cherry Hill, NJ), placed 2nd overall in 1:49.47 while Patrick Craig (Lacey, NJ) earned a 2nd place finish of his own in 12:34.79 in the 1,000-yard freestyle event.  Matt Hagaman (Pequannock, NJ) swam the 200-yard freestyle in 2:19.08 for a 2nd place finish and David Regal (Scotch Plains, NJ) and Ben Farhi (Hackensack, NJ) placed 2nd and 3rd respectively in the 100-yard backstroke.  Regal touched the poolside in 1:07.02 and Farhi finished the race in 1:09.64. 

Nehls placed 2nd in the 100-yard breaststroke with a personal best and Medvecky placed 3rd in 1:03.98 and 1:07.17 respectively.

The Roadrunners return to action on Saturday, February 16th when they host Ocean County Community College and Pace at 2:00 PM.  Ramapo’s seniors will be honored prior to the start of the meet.
