Acting Concentration (CA): Home

Students majoring in Theater with an Acting Concentration take a series of courses in acting, voice, movement, scene study, clowning and auditioning while participating in evening rehearsals for mainstage productions in the Sharp and Adler Theaters.

Ramapo acting teachers are MFA trained actors who work with students to maximize their performance range and develop their own unique artistic voices, preparing them to apply themselves to material that ranges from the classical to experimental. Courses are challenging, fun and intellectually demanding, preparing students for approaching work in a wide range of performance genres while retaining their own center of truth. Guest artist directors and designers work with our students in production to provide learning experiences that closely mirror professional working conditions and allow techniques learned in studio to be put into practice on stage.

Graduates of Ramapo's Acting Concentration have gone on to prestigious graduate programs and have found careers in the NY and regional theaters across the country.

What is a Concentration?

A concentration is a focus on a more targeted field of the major. Some majors have concentrations in which you choose your course of study. These majors include Business Administration, Communication Arts, Music, and Social Science.
