This site lists current travel warnings issued when the State Department recommends that Americans avoid a certain country. The countries listed are currently on that list. In addition to this list, the State Department issues Consular Information Sheets for every country of the world with information on such matters as the health conditions, crime, unusual currency or entry requirements, any areas of instability, and the location of the nearest U.S. embassy or consulate in the subject country. ANYONE considering working/studying/traveling abroad should consult this site before and during their stay abroad.

CIEE

This is the official website for the Council on International Educational Exchange. CIEE provides quality programs and services for individuals, employers, communities and educational institutions and can assist students with choosing an international experience.

IIE.org

The Institute of International Education is a world leader in the international exchange of people and ideas. IIE designs and implements programs of study and training for students , educators , young professionals and trainees from all sectors with funding from government agencies , foundations , and corporations . These programs include the Fulbright and Humphrey Fellowships, administered for the U.S. Department of State, and the People, Energy, and Development program administered for USAID. IIE also conducts policy research, and provides advising and counseling.
