Admittance
Upon Placement

Upon Return

Admittance:

Students interested in applying for the International Cooperative Education Program must have:

1. 3.0 GPA
2. Domestic Cooperative Education experience
3. Excellent employer evaluation
4. Updated resume
5. Previous intercultural experience
6. International Cooperative Education Application
A. application form
B. essay
C. two references
D. $75 check
7. An interview with members of the International Cooperative Education Advisory Board
8. Exemplary academic and disciplinary standing

Upon Placement:

When placed, students are responsible for:

1. Possession of a valid passport
2. Research and arrangement for the appropriate work permit
3. Application for an ISIC card - two passport sized photographs required
4. C ompletion of the Cooperative Education Learning Agreement
5. Registration
6. Notification of all appropriate on-campus offices (i.e, Financial Aid, Housing, Graduation Office, etc.)
7. Possession of at least $2,000 in start up funds (bank statement required)
8. The arrangement of flights
9. Housing arrangements
10. A current checking account with an ATM (ATM cards linked to savings accounts do not work outside of the States).
11. Possession of a current credit card
12. A bank reference letter
13. Cahill Center notification of US contact information
14. Providing parents or other responsible party with all financial information and access to bank account
15. Giving copies of passport, work permit, ISIC card, airline tickets, emergency contact information and all relevant materials to the Cahill Center and parents or responsible party
16. Attendance at all orientation/reflection sessions
17. All College business while abroad

In Placement/Host Country:

Students will:

1. Open bank account
2. Give new address and phone number to The Cahill Center
3. Make The Cahill Center aware of your whereabouts when traveling
4. Keep in weekly touch with this Office (email, phone, etc.)
3. Complete all academic commitments
4. Register for classes for next semester
5. Arrange for housing after return
6. Complete student evaluation of placement
7. Represent the College in a mature and ambassadorial manner
8. Behave consistently with all agreed upon and signed program waivers
9. Adhere to College standards as described inthe Ramapo College Student Handbook

upon Return:

Students will:

1. Attend Reflection Session (with pictures and journal excerpts)
2. Complete Placement Evaluation form
3. Participate in classroom presentations
4. Serve the College community with global initiatives, programs and liaisons
5. Bring pictures for promotional use on the College website
