Governor Cahill had a long and distinguished career as lawyer, special agent for the FBI, Camden City Prosecutor, Assistant Prosecutor of Camden County, Special Deputy Attorney General of New Jersey, State Assemblyman, member of the United States Congress, and Governor of New Jersey. Throughout his career, Governor Cahill sought to serve society by improving services, combating crime, improving housing and enhancing support to education. During his term in office, three new colleges opened including the Richard Stockton State College, the Thomas Edison State College and Ramapo College of New Jersey.
Ramapo College's commitment to experience-building in the classroom and to service in the community was forged during Governor Cahill's term. For this reason, and in honor of his service to New Jersey, the Cahill Center is dedicated in his name. The Ramapo College Governor William T. Cahill Center for Experiential Learning and Career Services was dedicated in honor of Governor Cahill on September 10, 1997. [ return to top ] |
