![]() "The challenge of social justice is to evoke a sense of community that we need to make our nation a better place, just as we make it a safer place." Marian Wright Edelman |

An integral part of the Ramapo College Mission is service to the community. The Cahill Center offers a number of service opportunities to our faculty, staff, students and community partners.
Each academic year more than 300 students contribute their time, energy and skills at a wide variety of community partner organizations and with people from equally diverse backgrounds through their participation in the program. More than 25 faculty members participate in the program annually by offering service-learning in their courses. Since its inception in the 1990-91 academic year, approximately 2500 students have been placed in service-learning assignments and the program has been awarded over $160,000 in grants from federal, state and private sources.
