Web Services
The Office of Online Communications/Web Administration is responsible for developing and maintaining the official Web sites of Ramapo College. Web sites for schools, units, and services that are hosted on the College Internet and Intranet Web servers are included in the scope of work performed by the College's Web Team.
The Ramapo College Web Team provides ongoing support for the development of official Web sites. The Team assists in the design, information architecture, implementation, testing and launch of sites using Web templates that include site-wide navigation elements, and Cascading Style Sheet (CSS) technologies for standardized usability and accessibility.
To expand stakeholder access, the Web team continues to provide support for official Website migration to the existing Content Management System (CMS) that will allow campus constituents direct update capabilities to predefined content areas on their Web site.
The Web Team also provides support for integrated marketing campaigns and search engine strategies in support of the College's mission and goals.
Content Management
A content management system, or CMS, is a system that allows non-technical users to update Web pages. Working in a Microsoft Word environment, the user can edit Web pages, add content, add photos, and more.
Once the content is added to the page, the user can view the finished product in a real-time environment before publishing it to the World Wide Web.
The learning curve for the Ramapo College CMS is relatively short. User support is available from the College’s Web Team’s Help Desk and in this Website.
