Ramapo College Hurricane Sandy Relief
Many members of the Ramapo College community have already begun with Hurricane Sandy Relief efforts across the state of New Jersey. The Ramapo Civic and Community Engagement Center wants to thank everyone for all efforts that have been made so far, and to remind everyone that relief efforts will last throughout the remainder of the Fall and beyond. The Civic and Community Engagement Center is helping to coordinate and consolidate efforts across campus in order to attempt to provide the greatest possible impact. We are also contacting various relief organizations to ensure safe conditions for our volunteers. If you are interested in getting involved, or have your own plans to provide relief to those in need - whether by active service, fund-raising, donations or other means - please contact the Civic and Community Engagement Center so that we can work together in these efforts. Below, you will find a list of liaisons who are in charge of coordinating efforts for various groups/areas of campus. If you cannot find a contact for what you need, please reach out to us via e-mail at csc@ramapo.edu, in our office in SC-213, or by phone at 201-684-7586. Please use this page as a resource to keep informed, learn about upcoming initiatives, drives, projects and organizations to work with, and to also find out what Ramapo has done to keep JerseyStrong.
In light of recent tragedies that have been striking not only the local areas, but world-wide, Flood Response and Safety Training will be brought to you by World Cares on Thursday, March 7th from 5:30pm to 8:30pm in ASB 135. Sponsored by the Civic and Community Engagement Center, participants will be granted the opportunity to learn how to enhance their community flood preparedness and response capabilities to terrorist attacks on infrastructure or environmental occurrence causing flood related issues, as well as their capability to organize citizens for evacuation. This three hour training session with highly qualified professionals will provide an opportunity for individuals to be prepared for even the most drastic situations.
