Spring 2013 Housing Intent Process

The Spring Housing Intent Process allows the Office of Residence Life to have a confirmation of how many residents are returning to their campus housing assignment for the Spring 2013 semester. 

All residents must complete the Spring 2013 Housing Intent process! This includes all residents who are:  

  • Graduating in December 2012 and May 2013
  • Studying abroad or participating in National Student Exchange in Spring 2013
  • Withdrawing or transferring for the Spring 2013 semester

The Spring Intent process includes completing the Spring 2013 Housing Intent Form and the Resident Assistant/Community Assistant/Senior Resident Assistant Evaluation.

HOW TO ACCESS THE SPRING INTENT PROCESS:

The Spring 2013 Housing Intent Process is now available and must be completed via the personal link e-mailed to each student’s Ramapo e-mail account.  The link is unique to each student, therefore, we ask that you do not share this link.  If you have accidentally deleted this link and need to have the link resent to you, please e-mail reslife@ramapo 

This process must be completed by November 12, 2012 (free of charge).  

You will automatically be billed for Spring semester charges if you have indicated that you are returning for the Spring 2013 semester.  Students are responsible for informing the Office of Residence Life of any changes in their housing status.

STUDENTS WHO DO NOT COMPLETE THE SPRING INTENT PROCESS:

Residents who do not complete the Spring 2013 Housing Intent Process will lose housing and must reapply for any future housing requests.  In addition, your guaranteed housing status will no longer be in effect as you will be considered a Commuter. 

If you decide at a later date that you would like on campus housing, you must resubmit a housing application with the required housing deposit to the Bursar’s Office.  Upon receipt of your Commuter application, your name will be added to the Commuter waitlist. Please note: housing is not guaranteed.  

WHAT IS YOUR SPRING 2013 STATUS?

All residents are required to indicate their Spring 2013 housing status when completing the Spring Housing Intent Process.  Your options include:  

  • Remaining In Current Housing Assignment:
    If you are remaining in your current assignment for the Spring 2013 semester, you do not have to take all your belongings homeHowever, the College is not responsible for any items that are left in the residence halls/apartments, therefore, we encourage you take all of your valuables home.  If deemed necessary, College officials (such as Facilities or other staff members) may need to enter your apartment/suite/room at any point after check-out to make any necessary repairs or assessments.

    Residents who currently reside in Mimosa (CPA) are required to take all of their belongings home at the end of the Fall 2012 semester.  This information was provided to all Mimosa residents during the Fall 2012 housing selection process and via emails sent by the CPA Hall Office.
     
  • Withdrawing, Transferring OR Graduating in December 2012: 
    If you are not returning for the Spring 2013 semester, you must fill out a Housing Withdrawal Form (if applicable) and follow the check-out procedures outlined in your hall office.  All housing related charges will be removed from your student account on or about December 7, 2012.  Once you withdraw from housing you must reapply for any future housing requests as your guaranteed housing status will no longer be in effect and you will be considered a commuter.  If you decide at a later date that you would like on campus housing, you must resubmit a housing application with the required housing deposit to the Bursar’s Office.  Upon receipt of your Commuter application, your name will be added to the commuter waitlist.  Please note: housing is not guaranteed for those who withdraw from housing.
     
  • Participating in Study Abroad or National Student Exchange for the Spring 2013 semester: 
    If you are participating in Study Abroad or National Student Exchange for Spring 2013, you must obtain and submit a temporary withdrawal form.  The form can be obtained in the main Office of Residence Life, which is located in C-213.  The temporary withdrawal form must be submitted by December 3, 2012.  You will be guaranteed housing upon your return for the Fall 2013 semester; however, you will not be guaranteed a specific location.  You are responsible for submitting the non-refundable housing selection deposit of $500 by February 1, 2013.  In addition, you are responsible for following the Fall 2013 Housing Selection procedures which will be posted on the Residence Life webpage in March 2013 

WITHDRAWING FROM SPRING 2013

The 100% refund date for withdrawing from Spring 2013 housing is January 3, 2013. 

Students who withdraw AFTER January 3, 2013 but BEFORE February 12, 2013 will be assessed 50% of their housing charges for the Spring 2013 semester.  Students who withdraw after February 12, 2013 will not be entitled to a housing refund.  Therefore, we ask that you please be mindful of the refund deadlines if you are considering withdrawing from housing
